Licenses and
license plates are administered federally.
Licenses must be
re-registered every 3 years (except for Learner Licenses.)
Learner
Licenses (valid for 2 years) are offered to those who have undertaken the
Comprehensive Driving Course and are 17 years of age or older.
Learner plates must be stuck on the front and rear of the vehicle and a
driver must always be supervised by someone with an open license.
Provisional
Licenses (valid for 3 years) are offered to those who have done at least
100 hours of driving under a Learner License. Provisional plates must be
stuck on the front and rear of the vehicle. Other drivers to not need to
be present in the vehicle.
